Here's the latest about Gale and his recovery:

Gale is continuing to progress but the anticipated time of healing may take a bit longer than initially hoped for. He will be released from the hospital on Friday and will have friends and family staying with him for at least a month to aid in his rehabilitation. His medical team, friends and family will work on the cognitive therapy to help rebuild his memory. He’s walking well, and healing nicely and anxious to return to his home. His shoulder will take 6-8 weeks to return to full function. His parents will remain through this week.

Hmmm... good news, yes, but not exactly the greatest. I'm not sure if I should feel happy or sad for Gale. I'm really glad that he's making progress, is healing well physically and that he's going home where he'll be surrounded by family and friends. I'm sure he'll be happy to get out of the hospital after all this time. A lot of people end up doing much better once they are away from the stress of being there and back in the comfort of their own home, I hope the same is true for Gale. My heart does goes out to him that his mental healing is taking longer than was anticipated. I can imagine that trying to rebuild his memory must be frustrating for him. I know head injuries can take quite a while to heal, so I continue to do my best to be optimistic about his recovery. I'm incredibly grateful that he's alive and every day he's another step closer to being fully healed ... but it doesn't mean I'll stop worrying about him!

Please keep sending Gale your good thoughts and healing vibes! And if you're someone who prays, please say a special prayer for him.

*hugs to you all*
Chris

ooh thanks for the gale update!
can't believe that he's still trying to rebuild his memory so it's gonna be hard but I hope it's gonna be okay for SURE, cuz we are with him along the way as always. :)

I did the same thing with the head injury .. that's why I had hearing loss so I became deaf at the age of 2 and then I still have the learning disabilities since the age of 5 so it was hard to struggle and accept it. *sighs* but I'm still alive and he's alive too. we should be thankful for he is alive. :)

I will try my best to create the scrapbook from now on. I hope it's gonna be cool .. hehe!

talk to you soon!
hugs you tightly and tell you not to worry, just dream about him always. haha!

Yea me too, I was scared to know that it's difficult for him to struggle with his memory, but he's the smartest guy I've know in my life, I swear myself to the death!

I'm glad that he's going home with his family and friends, that's the most important thing.

Pls keep us updated, okay!

*hugs you back tightly*

Stay positive! From all reports he's doing well. I think once he's home and comfortable and with his family and friends supporting him he might make progress more quickly. The doctors expect a full recovery so that's what I'm expecting too, even if it takes a little while to get there. :-)

He's in my thoughts always. I'm so pleased he is going home on Friday and that he will have his friends and family by his side. It may take a little bit longer than we had hoped but I just know he will achieve full recovery. I am just so thankful that he is alive and seems to be physically on the mend. The memory will come in time. I'm sure he'll do much better once he's in the comfort of his own home. The stress of a hospital is unbelievable even though that's where you have to be to get the proper care but going home will be like heaven.

He has my love, good thoughts, wishes for a quick recovery and my prayers. Be well soon, sweet Gale! ♥

I feel exactly the same...still worried as hell but so glad he is progressing every day even if it is slowly...glad he can go home and has his family and friends with him...feel it is gonna take a while and worried about his memory loss more than anything.
Trying to keep positive and send good vibes all the time.
Don't sleep very well mostly anyway but I have been worse since his accident but at least I am breathing a little easier now.
It is hard not having anyone close that understands about the connection we all have with him, I am so glad that I have you and everyone on LJ to at least talk to when it gets too much for me.
Gale will recover-the altenative is not acceptable!
Good vibes on the way continuously.
later x

I know I'll continue to worry about him until we know he's better. Yeah, I think it's going to take a while for him regain his memories, that's what worries me most of all. I just want him well! But I do know it's a great thing that he's going home, that's definitely a big step toward a full recover!

*hugs* Chris

Thank you so much for the update! Ohh, my poor Gale!! I didn't know his memory was effected--do you know if it's just short-term memory he lost or is it a more serious case of amnesia? I really hope not... how tragic if he couldn't remember all the incredible work he did on QAF and the wonderful, open-minded, fighting-for-the-underdog kind of guy he was~~ Poor Gale... I'll wish him the very best!!

You're very welcome!

We really don't know many details about Gale's injuries, just that he has a broken shoulder and that his memory was affected, but to what extent, we really don't know. And since I wrote this report, we haven't heard anything more, only that he is at home now. Hopefully someone will take pity on his worried fans and give us an update soon on how his recovery is coming along. When/If I hear anything new, I'll be sure to post it on my LJ.
